The Denial of Dan Rather
Ballots flying, the clicking of boxes galore, but this particular election is oh so much more. The world is watching, everyone's looking at you, the question appearing now is What to Do? With your graying hair and baggies under your eyes, you hold up the totals, calling them ties. You may make up jokes, drawing the audience in, but truth be told Dan, just tell us who will win! Ohio may look up to Florida in respect and admiration, but to Old Danny Boy, it's simply intimidation. The votes are streaming in, can't you see? they're not making us wait on NBC! Closer and closer, the numbers are rising, the republicans already partying to find victory appetizing. 136,000 votes, Dan, call them apart, poor John Kerry says its too early to depart. Finally, Dan, even though Ohioans have no jobs, they've voted for Bush in masses and mobs. Not winning the popular in 2000 gives Bush a strategic barter, and Dan, thanks for telling us, of John Kerry, the martyr.
p.s. I got a B for the first time in 20 report cards. That's right. I havent gotten a B since second quarter 5th grade. So, just don't mention the words english, ms. curry, jane eyre, narrative, test, or B, or A. I am living a nerd's worst nightmare.
